Could these two be any happier??! I adored photographing this proposal at Hudson 29 last weekend! It’s really quite a fun story!
Let’s go back about two and a half weeks — Jonny found my website and contact information via Google search and decided to give me a call to see if I’d be available to photograph his proposal to Melissa. I love photographing proposals so I knew I couldn’t pass this up! I was available to meet Jonny at the restaurant to go over his plan that same day where we decided on the location and walked through how it would all go down.
Before I met Jonny, I shamelessly admit that I did what most twenty-first century people do — I looked him up on Facebook to get an idea of who I should be looking for once I got to the restaurant! But, I also discovered that we had a mutual friend (one of my 2017 brides and friend, Kristen!) At this point, I was thinking, oh, what a small world!
After chatting with Jonny about the proposal plan, I asked him how he got my info and yep, he said just a Google search! I had to let him know that we had a mutual friend and that I was her wedding photographer! Guess what! This is where it might get a little confusing, but Melissa is Kristen’s fiancé Matt’s little sister! Jonny was cracking up at what a coincidence this all was and so was I!
Melissa’s reaction says it all. She was over the moon and even more excited to find all that both sides of the family were waiting for them right around the corner. I can’t forget to mention that it was April Fools Day… and how Jonny jokingly tried to propose with a ring pop!! All joking aside, what a sweet and thoughtful proposal Jonny planned!
