Kaila and Chris’s Cedar Springs Pavilion summer wedding was designed with bright bold colors and a Spanish flair! Such a fun theme to play off the venue’s character. There was a chance of rain all afternoon but it somehow completely bypassed us and we didn’t see a drop! I jokingly call it the Lauren Lee Photography no rain guarantee because I’ve never had a wedding with anything more than a light drizzle! I’m totally jinxing myself but who doesn’t love glowy sunsets!
One of my favorite moments of the day was the letter exchange between Kaila and Chris. Probably one of the sweetest and most romantic things I’ve witnesses to date, Kaila had written letters to her future husband, months before she had even met Chris. She was finally able to gift those letters to the perfect man on their wedding day. Chris also impressed me with the small chest of letters he gifted Kaila. Each envelope stated a different time in life to open the letter, (ex. open when our first child is born). I gushed, I mean, this is just a testament to how special these two human beings are.
Kaila has been building a photography business of her own and I’ve enjoyed following her work as she begins this journey! It’s always an honor to photograph for another creative. You’re doing amazing, Kaila!!
After the beautiful outdoor ceremony and photos, the reception kicked off. Between the silent disco, maracas, piñata, and dancing, this was a reception I won’t forget!
Kaila and Chris, we loved every minute of our time with you! Thank you for making us feel like part of your family for the day! I’m so excited for you to see all the photos, but for now, here are just a few of my many favorites!
If you enjoy this post, be sure to check out Kaila and Chris’s engagement session, here!
