Yosemite National Park is a truly remarkable place. With its astonishing views and landscapes everywhere you look, it’s no doubt a remarkable location for engagement photos or an elopement. During this session we photographed at a few stunning locations that are all very accessible: Tunnel View, El Cap Meadow and Three Brothers. Below I’m going to list a few quick tips for a successful engagement session in Yosemite.
It’s best to plan for at least 4-6 hours of photo time in the park. This time will allow for enough travel time between your desired locations, especially if you’re heading up to Glacier Point. Always check the weather on the National Park website as well as for any road closures.
Plan for a break to change, refuel and use restrooms, the area surrounding the Village Store is going to be one of the best spots to do so.
September and October are great months to visit the park. We visited the park in early October and the weather was great in the valley. However, the road up to Glacier Point closed down due an incoming snow storm at the higher elevation.
